Austen entered selling on a self-employed basis at the age of 20. By 33 his business had 150 sales people, working from 15 offices, each office had a manager and 2 administrative staff.

The main reason for the success of that business was his belief and commitment to training – 90% of it being sales skills training. Training, training, training. Training on a 121 basis was given to whosoever needed it whenever they needed it and each office held a weekly, group 90-minute sales training meeting. In 2007, after having built and sold his 2nd sales business, he took time out to spend more time with his long-suffering wife, ‘give something back’ in the form of voluntary charity work and play more tennis.

By 2010 he was missing the buzz and excitement of sales so much he decided to start his own sales training business, which he is still running and loving to this day.

He delivers 121 coaching, runs 2 and 3-day sales skills workshops and works with sales teams made up of 6-60 people.
